NOTE: Each state’s Certification/Licensure Board has different rules with regard to the number of online/distance learning courses an individual can take towards their initial certification and renewal requirements. Please check with your own state board for your particular distance learning limits.

For example, the Addiction Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey (APCBNJ) allows each student to take up to a maximum of 54 course hours (nine courses) to be obtained from distance learning or eLearning programs.
